
A collaboration between the Hermitage, the UK Friends of the Hermitage,
the Courtauld Institute of Art and Learning at Somerset House
Hermitage ‘Children’s Circles’ are organised
in St. Petersburg for children who want to do more than just visit.
Roughly 1,000 children join these circles every year to come to
the museum once a week and study in depth a special facet of the
museum collection.
Now the Hermitage ‘CHILDREN’S CIRCLES’
are also run in London!
Where?
The Hermitage Rooms, Courtauld and Learning Centre in Somerset
House.
What?
The courses, taught in Russian, are focused on the museum collection
in St. Petersburg and the changing exhibitions in the Hermitage
Rooms.
When?
Sundays for four successive weeks, twice a year
Who are the teachers?
Specialist teachers from the Hermitage Education Department
who teach the ‘Children’s Circles’ in St. Petersburg.
What age?
The courses are aimed at 11-13 year olds.
How to qualify?
Selection is through an oral test. No payment required.
